La presente tesis aborda el tema del apocalipsis a partir de un fragmento de los Comentarios al Apocalipsis de San Juan, cuyo autor, Beato de Liébana, es retomado desde el siglo VIII hasta por lo menos el siglo XV. Este fragmento se ubica en el Archivo Normal de la Nación, y se aborda su análisis desde dos perspectivas: la etnohistoria entendida como la reconstrucción histórico-cultural de las sociedades, y desde la Teoría de la Recepción Estética, interesada por reconstruir las formas de lectura que las sociedades hacen de los textos.
